THE SMOKE, IT GETS IN YOUR EYES.

Oscar Wilde used to say,

“You must have a cigarette. A cigarette is the perfect type of a perfect pleasure. It is exquisite, and it leaves one unsatisfied. What more can one want?”.

As a result I am not terribly fond of cigarettes, as much of what they symbolize... Cigarettes for me are a concept, and idea of rebellion, a stupidity in the form of a stick that just happens to go really well with a glass of whiskey. By simply writing about it I'm becoming enthralled by this, and as a result I am dying for a smoke.

This is funny if you think about it, because, like many things we might enjoy, the reason behind it is not really the thing itself, it might not be that you like coffee, but the fact that coffee reminds you of something or someone, even if that someone might be an idea you have of yourself.

We love emotion more that we adore sentiments, but because of that we choose to feel something physical, not always out of enjoyment, but for its immediacy, mainly because finding an emotion its hard, so we look to were we last felt it, even if its no longer there, even if its just a memory in the form of a stick that emits smoke...
