I had a chance to attend the Zona Maco Photography exhibit. Please enjoy a video essay I made regarding art and creators, as I walk through Zona Maco.

First of all, I love art... And that by itself is a bit of an understatement, because I actually adore art. Now, even though I don't exactly consider myself an artist, I am studying art, well... One of the seven fine arts to be more precise, I study filmmaking. But the way I see it, cinema is a combination of several other arts, with it's most influential ones being literature and of course photography. The latter actually being what this post is all about, the exhibit of Zona Maco Photography.

As I walked this corrideor filled with beautiful art, I change inside of my own mind. Art — this art specifically — has been influenced by all kinds of feelings and emotions. People want to portray life with all it's joy, but also all of it's tragedy. They have understood that art doesn't have to be happy, nor does it have to be sorrowful, it has to be true. The things we create are outlets for our emotions, they're bits of our life that have impacted us in one way or another.

We as creators must understand that the more honest we are about what we want to portray, the better our work will be. Our art is the language we use to express ourselves, because as most of us have discovered, nothing else will show what we're truly going through or what we have clustered inside of us, than a completely honest display of cathartic work, only then we'll be able to explain, who and what we are.
