Filmmaking Studies

I started university in 2013. This was after an admission process that took 4 months and 4 different kinds of tests/filters and an interview. There were 500 postulants but only 25 were admitted in the end. I was one of them. In total there were five years of university, meaning ten semesters, plus an extra year for my thesis project and an extra year to receive my university degree.

I studied filmmaking studies, and I graduated with a feature film as a thesis project and a justification essay of 33 pages on the emotional weight of aesthetics in cinema. I got a unanimous vote of approval.

This was the hardest academic thing I've ever done, and I loved every second of it. I know it isn't a requirement in cinema to go to film school, but I enjoyed all of it, I became someone else in the process, I met amazing people, and I think I created amazing things.

I am absolutely grateful... and somewhat nostalgic, which is a very me thing.
